80S-INSPIRED, SUSTAINABLE PRE-FALL 2019 COLLECTION BY N-DUO
If you' haven’t heard of N-Duo, they are a fashion brand who have been taking steps to decrease their carbon footprint since 2018. Co-Creative Directors, Natuka Karkashadze and Anum Bashir, are working exclusively with sustainably sourced fabrics produced via mills in Lyon, France - exactly the sort of brand we like to support!
The brand have introduced their pre-fall ’19 collection, featuring strong silhouettes in feminine shades, whilst celebrating the individuality of the wearer. The duo’s designs represent gender fluidity, whilst embodying a quirky elegance that Bashir and Karkashadze have become renowned for.
The new collection is feminine with a masculine edge. Shoulders are a huge focus, which brings a lot of 80’s nostalgia. Dramatic, structured sleeves are inspired by modern architecture, but crafted from delicate, light fabrics - a juxtaposition we definitely approve of. Tailored suits in rich tones are clean-cut with over-sized shoulder detailing - a signature of the brands modern approach to dressing.
80s inspired power dressing, form and fit have been a huge focus throughout the design process. In our opinion, N-Duo’s considered collections are suitable for day-to-night wear, perfectly versatile and great for busy professionals with a great love for a fabulous bygone fashion era.
"N-DUO at its core strives to design and create clothes for the eclectic of hearts. "Buy once, and wear forever" is slowly becoming our motto. Our objective is to continue producing collections that breathe fresh air into the industry. One of my personal goals is for the brand to continue thriving whilst being mindful of sustainability, which includes the use of organic fabrics, ensuring that employees are paid a fair wage, eliminating the use of plastics, hoping our products can have a longer life-span with our consumers, and for us to collectively reduce our carbon footprint." - Anum Bashir Co-Creative Director of N-Duo and founder of DESERT MANNEQUIN
