THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BREAKFAST IN NOTTING HILL: FOUND AT THE GOLBORNE DELI & BISTRO!
Located at number 100 on Golborne Road, the infamous Golborne Deli is nestled between bustling market stalls bursting with antiques, stylishly distressed furniture, seasonal flowers and delicious street food. Even if you are a lone wolf who likes to avoid as much human interaction as possible, you'll always find yourself smiling and saying 'good morning' to fellow Londoners on Golborne Road!
Armed with the early autumn sunshine and my latest novel, I entered the cosy and eclectic haven that is the Golborne Deli & Bistro. I was very lucky to acquire a lovely window table with street views (I like to people watch and do consider myself to be a professional Flâneur after reading way too much Baudelaire in European cafés). Those who wish to sit outside on sunny days will be happy, there is lots of room for alfresco diners.
I was instantly greeted by friendly, smiling and laid back staff who were extremely knowledgeable about the incredibly tempting Anglo-Mediterranean breakfast/brunch menu. I am a pescatarian with a penchant for alternative ingredients and green juice, which was no problem for these guys (I hate feeling like 'that fussy girl' at restaurants). Vegans, vegetarians and gluten-avoiders can rejoice - you are all welcome here!
As you can see from the divine cover image, a very wholesome and colourful autumn breakfast was suggested to me:
- Green Power Juice - great for a morning energy boost / vitamin kick
- Turmeric Latte - beautifully warming, sweet and wholesome
- Granola with quinoa, dairy free yoghurt, flaxseeds, rose petals and fruits - full of texture and flavour, sweet and nourishing
- Eggs Harissa: Scambled eggs with harissa paste, avocado, fresh tomatoes and rose petals on rye bread - to die for
- Salted Caramel Chocolate Cake (gluten and dairy free) - I cannot believe this is dairy free, it tastes as good as it looks
I was incredibly happy with how quick this excellent breakfast arrived. I discovered that the Golborne Deli & Bistro only use fresh and locally-sourced ingredients and coffee from responsible farmers, which makes all the difference. One of the chefs even told me which farm the eggs had been sourced from! All of those who know me personally will be aware that I squeal with delight and make a real fuss of beautiful looking meals and this order was no exception to the rule.
This place is a real feast for the eyes. Edgy and eclectic wooden decor throughout is a result of all furniture being bought from the surrounding Golborne markets - you might be inspired to go on the hunt for similar talking points available to purchase up and down the road! The whole establishment has a really cosy and homely feel.
I recommend Golborne Deli & Bistro to those who cherish peaceful morning breakfasts alone, to romantic lovebirds wanting to stare into each other's eyes over a seasonal late morning brunch or to those wishing to feed the entire extended family. This was the perfect way to start the day. Shout out to the entire wonderful team who should be extremely proud of what they have created. I predict that this foodie hot spot will be around for many years to come.
