RESTAURANT REVIEW: DINNER AT PARISIAN STYLE CAFÉ L'OSCAR, HOLBURN
Located on the ground floor, Café L'oscar is the bustling heart of the L'oscar hotel, with its eye-catching illuminated onyx bar and decor inspired by the world’s oldest café in Venice. Walls and ceilings are adorned with decadent mirrors, gilded panels, and original art, creating a vibrant atmosphere as you dine.
Mr Musings and I visited Café L'oscar for dinner last night, very keen to explore the All Day Menu created by Executive Chef Tony Fleming. The menu is short but sweet, featuring a carefully curated and varied selection of dishes, suitable for both meat eaters and vegetarians. I was surprised to see a salmon bagel on the menu as it's something i'd usually associate with brunch/lunch, but sometimes you do fancy a lighter dish after work.
We started our meal with an apple martini each, unable to resist the temptation of a 'cheers' Boomerang for Instagram. This place is very photographable, particularly if you are into tempting design details and collecting interior design inspiration.
Roasted squash soup, nutmeg crème fraiche, brown butter - £9
Greek salad, gem lettuce, barrel aged feta - £8
Ricotta ravioli, salsa verde, toasted hazelnuts, Pecorino - £9
Grilled rib eye, French fries, Café de Paris butter - £29
Café L’oscar screams of the charm and sophistication of a traditional Parisian café. This Holburn hot spot is great for brilliant breakfasts, bistro-style lunches, or intimate evening dinners. We'd also recommend popping in for drinks and desserts, although after ordering two side portions of sour dough bread, we were unable to indulge in tempting sweet treats! We have no choice but to return again very soon...
